May07

There is no better way to spoil our mums than to make them feel and look beautiful this Mother’s Day.

If your mum now has slippers and dressing gowns up to her ears and if chocolates and flowers just won’t cut it this Mother’s Day, I’ve got just the thing…Allow me to help you with some suggestions to make your mum feel cherished and pampered this mother’s day with Youngblood…

1.  Creme to Powder Foundation – this is a mum’s favourite! It’s so nourishing and hydrating for the skin AND also has anti ageing benefits… what more could mum want.

2. Eye Impact Quick Recovery Creamthis little gem will leave your mum’s eyes feeling fresh and rejuvenating with its cooling and “de-puffing” technology. Let’s face it, mum or not a mum – every woman needs an amazing eye cream!

3. Artiste Brow Kitone of the annoying things that happens to us all with age is our brows can become sparse and undefined… and yet they can make such a difference to the look of our face and makeup. Help your mum put the bang back into her brows with the kit that does it all!

4. Luminous Creme BlushYoungblood’s range of new Creme Blushes are a quick and easy way to give your mum’s cheeks a hint of colour and life.  The great thing about these too is that it won’t leave mum looking too powdery if fine lines and wrinkles can be a concern, because of its lovely creamy texture. Can also be used to give a little hit of colour on her lips too.

5. Eyeshadow QuadsShanghai Nights, Vintage and Timeless Eyeshadow Quads are all great pressies for mum. These quads are filled with great natural, easy-to-wear shades that are mostly matte in texture, so are very friendly!

Hope these hot tips help you treasure your mum this Mother’s Day and make her feel beautiful and special!

New Eye-lluminating Duo

Mar12

One of the quickest and easiest ways to look fresh faced, awake and glowing is to add some highlighting and illumination into your makeup look.

Well, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics has made it easy for you!

This great new product will have your eyes looking bright and glowing in a flash and what’s more it’s really quick and easy!

Youngblood’s NEW Eye-Illuminating Duo Pencil is a dynamic duo of a matte pink-nude tone on one end and a shimmer iridescent champagne-beige on the opposite end. Both of these colours are awesome for highlighting your eyes – just choose whether you want that extra bit of shimmer or if matte highlighting will suit your look better!

Here’s how to get the most out of this awesome new addition to the Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics range….

  1. Create a base for your eye shadow

To create a nice base for your eye shadow to be applied on top of, simply line the entire eyelid area with the Eye-illuminating Duo Pencil and then blend it off using Youngblood’s Crease brush or Deluxe Eyeshadow Brush. If you want some extra glow- go with the shimmer end, and you’d like to keep the look matte, and then choose the matte end. This step will help your eye shadow last longer as it gives a nice creamy base for them to stick to.

  1. Highlight your eyes

For glowing highlights for the eye area and to make your eyes look bright and open, use the shimmer end of the pencil applied to the inner corners of the eye- top and bottom. To give the brow extra lift, trace the Eye-Illuminating Duo Pencil right under the brow, on the bone and blend off with Youngblood’s Deluxe  eyeshadow brush. For a clean “eyes wide open” look, apply either end of the pencil into the bottom inner rim of the eye.

  1. Perfect your pout

Not only can this gem be used for your eyes but also on your lips! To make your lips appear fuller, trace the shimmer side along the cupid’s bow (the centre of the top lip) before or after applying your main lip colour. To neutralise your natural lip colour, apply the matte side of the pencil to the entire lip before applying your lipstick or lip gloss of choice. This method will also help you achieve the perfect nude lip when combined with a nude gloss.

So get lining and try adding this beautiful new product into your makeup routine for a hint of freshness and a subtle glow!

Beautify Your Brows

Feb21

Ladies, our brows are the framework for our face. They are not just there to catch your sweat and protect your eyes…no, no – they are there to make your eyes stand out, frame your facial features and put the finishing touches on the beautiful makeup’s that you create.

And big brows are back! The skinny little over plucked look is to be left in the 80’s and it’s time to embrace the shaped and groomed brow. Lucky for you, Youngblood’s Artiste Brow Kit’s have everything you need all in the one cute little compact, to tame your brows and keep them looking smashing!

Here are steps to help you groom your brows to perfection using the Artiste Brow Kit’s

  1. Before you start plucking and preening, remember to work with what you’ve got…no two brows are the same! It’s important to work with the natural angle and shape of your brow and fill them accordingly.
  2. Start by brushing brow hair thoroughly using the wand end of your brush, so you can see the brows’ natural shape. Brush the hairs in an upward direction to start, and then direct them to the outer edges of the face.
  3. Apply a small amount of the lightest eyebrow shadow colour in the kit to your angle brush and start to fill and extend the brows where needed. Build colour up gradually and if more strength is needed, apply in a similar fashion, the darker shade of shadow colour.
  4. Once you have reached the desired depth of colour, brush brows through again using the mascara wand end of the brush, to blend the shadow through the brow, ensuring the finish is natural.
  5. Using either the angle brush or the comb, brush a little of the brow wax through the brow to hold the hair in place.
  6. To offer extra hold to unruly hairs, try finishing the brow off with a layer of Youngblood’s Mineral Lash Prime… simply comb it through the brow using the wand.

Here’s to beautiful brows!

Valentine’s Day!

Feb14

It’s that time again and Valentine’s Day is here! Now, some may love this and jump at the opportunity for a hot date a romantic dinner or a few stolen moments with the one you love. Some also are sure to roll their eyes and think of it as nothing more than a commercial celebration. However… whether you have someone to love or not, it’s an excuse to get glammed up and gorgeous, and who doesn’t love that! So whether you’ll be celebrating with the one you love, with a contender for your love or maybe even just with the girlfriends, I wanted to give you some makeup inspiration!

Let’s take our lead from the stars that do it so well – here are a few ideas and how to get the look with Youngblood…

 Smoky Glamorous

How can you ever go past a classic smoky eye for instant glam. The key with this look is to keep the focus on and keep the rest of the skin and lips fresh and clean. For the eyes, use the Starlet Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad, line the eyes with Eclipse Gel Liner and plump the lashes with Blackout Lengthening Mascara. Polishing the lips with Champagne Ice Lip Gloss will finish the look with the perfect nude pout.

Soft and Pretty

For a more subtle romantic look, keep the eyes defined using soft washes of colours such as Haze Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow, Coco Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow, Halo Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow or the Shanghai Nights Mineral Eyeshadow Quad. A hint of pink on apple of the cheek using Dusty Pink Crushed Mineral Blush will give you a girly glow. Pout Lip Pencil and Just Pink Lipstick will keep the lips looking fresh and feminine.

Pink and Sassy

For a fun and sassy look, opt for bold lips using Envy Lipstick topped off with a coating of Promiscuous Lip Gloss. Keep the eyes flirty by just defining the top lash line with a winged liner, using Eclipse Gel Liner. Make the top lashes bold with Blackout Mineral Lengthening Mascara and even apply a false lash strip if you’re game!

Romance with Red

When you think romantic, you think red. There is a certain sex appeal about a bold red lip that I’m sure will never go out of fashion. Line your lip using Truly Red Lip Pencil, and then apply Vixen Lipstick to the entire lip area. This looks great with bronzed, glowing skin so apply Sundance Mineral Radiance to the cheeks and anywhere else you want a glow. Add a wash of Gilded Pressed Individual Eyeshadow to the eye for a hint of gold, and then define the inner rim and upper lashes using Blackest Black Eye Pencil. Add lashings of Blackout Mineral Lengthening Mascara and you’re ready for romance!

Looking Good This Summer

Jan31

The summer season (as much as we love it) can be one of the most challenging times of the year to stay looking fresh and polished. The heat, the sweat, the water… these things can all prove to be a challenge to keeping your makeup looking great – whether it be at the beach or at a party.

Well here are a few tips for you to get the most out of your makeup this summer…

-          Prime, prime, prime! Applying a light layer of Mineral Primer under your foundation, will help it last you all the longer and protect your skin from environmental damage.

-          Get protected with Loose Mineral Foundation… this Youngblood best seller is a natural sun protectant because of the ingredient Titanium Dioxide. Now I’m not suggesting to push aside the sun cream altogether, but at least you know, with a dusting of Loose Mineral Foundation you will be getting that extra coverage from harsh rays.

-          Be glamorous in the water. Who said you have to look like you have just rolled out of bed when you’re at the beach?? Choose products like Youngblood’s range of Gel Eyeliner’s and you’ll find that even in the water, the product stays where you put it. Even our Lengthening Mascara and Loose Mineral have a water resistance to them … this can also be handy if you’re planning on sweating it up on the dance floor.

-          Highlight your tan. You can make your summer golden glow really stand out by using products such as Lunar Dust and Mineral Radiance, to give your skin an extra sheen. If you want to enhance your body tan a little (or trying to hide any white strap marks!) Youngblood’s Illuminating Body Tint will do the trick. Your skin will be glowing, moisturised and even… perfect!

-          Prepare to de-shine. I always say that Pressed Mineral Rice Setting Powder can be your best friend in summer if you tend to shine up around the T-Zone, especially in heat. Keep one of these little gems handy in your handbag to matte down your skin and freshen your makeup when necessary.

-          Spritz away! One of the most soothing things to do on a hot summers day (or a little too much time spent in the sun) is to spritz your skin with one of our Minerals in the Mist sprays. They will protect, hydrate and lock the moisture in to your skin so are a great addition to throw in your beach bag!

Summer Trends

Jan10

Natural and nude is a big trend this summer… as it is most summers. This is the perfect look for those breezy holiday days – the focus can be on your glowing skin and tan, whilst just subtly defining the rest of your features. Great products to use for this look are the Mineral Moisture Tints or a light dusting of the Loose Mineral Foundation for the skin, a hint of bronzing with Sundance Mineral Radiance and defining the eyes with Blackout Lengthening Mascara and brows groomed with the Artiste Brow Kit. Give the cheeks a subtle glow with a Crushed Mineral Blush and gloss up the lips with a soft colour such as Coy Lipgloss and you’re good to go!

Another trend that we see carrying on from Spring of this year is colour, colour, colour! Summer is a great time to get playful and experiment with your makeup, and don on a little colour for the holidays. Bright lips are back and look great with even just a hint of mascara and cheek. Try the always faithful Vixen or Envy Lipstick’s and you will not be disappointed. Add a splash of colour to the eyes using shades such as Heathersmoke Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow or Jewel Pressed Individual Eyeshadow and you’ll be right on trend! Remember, if wearing colour on the eyes- keep the lips simple and vice versa.

Last but not least, a beautiful trend that often graces the catwalk at summer is the golden and peachy glow. This look never fails as its easy and the colours look beautiful on most skin and eye colours and fabulous with a summer tan. To help you create this last trend I’ve put together a look to follow using some Youngblood favourites and some foolproof “how to” steps to help you along the way!

Why not this festive season, embrace a little creativity and add in a little colour. Or if you’ve never worn a smokey eye, maybe this year’s Christmas or New Year’s Eve party is your chance!

I’ve done my best to help you get inspired, by creating this look using the beautiful teal shade of Jewel Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow and the ‘every woman needs’ Black Opal Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow.

But if jade is just not your shade (or just won’t go with your outfit), try substituting with the purple hues of Heathersmoke Crushed Mineral Eyshadow or the midnight blue Sapphire Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow perhaps.

Whatever the occasion – be adventurous and dare to dabble in some of the beautiful colours that the Youngblood range has to offer!

Season’s Greetings!

Stacey
