Our foundations are 100% safe. The titanium dioxide we use in our formulations is very fine but not small enough to penetrate into the skin, and instead sits comfortably on top to build a flawless layer. We suggest you avoid inhaling the powder as you apply it.

Youngblood mineral makeup was originally formulated by founder Pauline Youngblood in a medical setting – specifically for patients recovering from harsh medical procedures such as laser, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, surgeries, and cancer treatments. Her patients had such dramatic success with the products that they continued using her formula long after their skin healed, and requested that she make the products commercially available.

Not at all! Many assume that since mineral cosmetics are largely made up of powder those with dry or combination skin can’t use them, but this simply isn’t true! Youngblood formulas are completely talc free and actually retain your skin’s moisture – keeping skin hydrated and comfortable.

A few of our products contain bismuth oxychloride (a derivative of bismuth) to provide a smooth finish and help the product wear longer. While many cheap forms of bismuth can cause irritation, we use a pharmaceutical grade of bismuth oxychloride that has undergone a thorough filtering process to ensure its purity and safety.

Youngblood products do not contain nanoparticles. Our pharmaceutical-grade titanium dioxide is non-nano, and used for its opacity, colour and UV properties.

The number one ingredient in Youngblood’s Natural Mineral Foundation is Titanium Dioxide, a natural sun protectant that physically “blocks” UVB (burning) and many UVA (ageing) rays. Our Loose and Liquid Mineral Foundations hold an SPF 15+ rating.
